Minister of the Office of the Prime Minister (TAMISEMI) Riziki Shemdoe appealed to all government institutions in the country to actively implement digital technologies to improve services to citizens, increase accountability and efficiency of public services. Information and communication technologies (ICTs) have become a key element in strengthening government work by facilitating access to services, increasing transparency, and reducing the cost of providing them to the public.

As part of the celebration of the Public Service Week, held in Chinangali Park, 226 government agencies participated, which provided citizens with a wide range of services. Among them were the registration of land documents, birth certificates, national identity cards, specialized medical care and various administrative services. «An approach that makes services more accessible to citizens should be developed, as it facilitates access to services, strengthens the bond between government and society, and increases citizens' trust in their government», said Professor Shemdoe.
During the event, Shamdoe launched GSD and NGAO systems aimed at improving the provision of public services and increasing the security of digital systems. The GSD system will allow citizens to easily and timely receive various government services through a single window, and the NGAO system will enhance the security of government data through the use of multi-factor authentication.
In addition, he instructed the Office of Electronic Government (e-GA) to continue work on the integration of government systems in order to ensure effective data exchange between government agencies, eliminate duplication of information and increase the productivity of service provision. Professor Shemdoe also ordered an assessment of the celebration of Public Service Week over the past three years in order to identify the successes achieved, the problems identified and develop effective strategies to improve future events.
For his part, Juma Mkomi, Chief Secretary of the Presidential Administration for Civil Service, said that the celebration is aimed at strengthening accountability, transparency and quality of service to citizens through the use of modern technologies that allow services to be provided faster and more efficiently. He added that these events provided an opportunity for the government to demonstrate the success of investments made in the public sector, especially in the field of ICT, which have contributed to improved service and increased citizen satisfaction.
