As part of a strategic initiative to strengthen the protection of national infrastructure, senior Tanzanian police officials toured various natural gas production facilities run by the Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC). The purpose of the visit was to help officers better understand the requirements for managing these nationally important facilities and ensuring their security.

The delegation included district police chiefs (UBOP) and regional chiefs from the areas where the natural gas infrastructure is located. During a visit to the natural gas reception facilities in Kinyerezi, Dar es Salaam, officials were briefed on the operational procedures and the vital role these facilities play in ensuring the country's reliable energy supply.
The team also visited a compressed natural gas (CNG) fuelling station owned by TPDC in the Mawasiliano district of Dar es Salaam. There, they learned about the technology behind the conversion of automobile gas and its contribution to providing clean, safe, and economical energy.
The tour includes visits to other key infrastructure facilities such as the Mtwara to Dar es Salaam gas pipeline, the Madimba natural gas processing plant in Mtwara and gas wells located in the Misimbati district.
